Step into the heart of Trastevere and experience authentic Roman life inside a private home. You’ll be in one of the city’s most picturesque neighborhoods, right next to the Botanical Garden, surrounded by the aromas, flavors, and traditions of a Roman family. 'Hello, I’m Ilaria! My passion for cooking began early: I started working in my family’s restaurant at just 15 years old. My mother and grandmother are both chefs, and from them I inherited not only precious recipes, but also a genuine love for hospitality and good food. Today, I pass these traditions on to my children, my friends, and the many guests who visit from around the world My cooking class is hands-on, welcoming, and suitable for everyone—experienced home cooks, curious beginners, and even children. I work only with small groups (a maximum of 8 people) to offer an intimate, authentic, and personalized experience, together with my lively family: my husband Samuel and our three children, Sergio, Virginia, and Massimo. Together, we’ll learn the secrets of handmade fresh pasta: fettuccine, ravioli, and orecchiette, paired with red or white sauces chosen according to the season and the freshest ingredients from the local market. During the class, you will learn how to: • Make fresh pasta dough from scratch • Shape three traditional Italian pasta styles • Prepare three different sauces • Use various flours and substitute ingredients when cooking at home While we cook, I’ll serve small local appetizers and a glass of wine, sharing stories, techniques, and family tips passed down through generations. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, and truly authentic. After the preparation, we’ll sit down together to enjoy a full meal featuring the dishes you’ve made, accompanied by local wine. It’s a special moment where conversation, flavor, and conviviality come together to create a memorable Roman experience. To finish, we’ll prepare tiramisu using my family’s recipe—the perfect sweet ending to your culinary journey.
