The only real positive of our stay was the location. It was an easy walk to many of Rome’s main attractions, but location alone doesn’t make a hotel 4-star. Finding the hotel was more difficult than it should have been since it’s in a fairly nondescript building and no check-in instructions or guidance were provided beforehand. The room wasn’t particularly clean, the bathroom flooded every time we showered, and the AC was awful — even by European standards — which made the room very uncomfortable during the heat wave. We called the front desk about it and were simply told it was working, with no attempt to help or look into the issue further. On top of that, the Wi-Fi didn’t work for two of our three nights and the breakfast was mostly pre-packaged, store-bought items. Overall, this felt much closer to a 2-star experience than the 4-star hotel we booked.
Very nice hotel, when we first arrived we had no idea where the door was but we called and they told us easily-the hotel is on the 5th floor of a building so you have to enter then go up to check in to get your room key, your room may be on another level. Breakfast is an option, but it isn’t included-eggs, bread, pastries, drinks, cheeses and meats, bananas, a fresh pie of some sort, and coffee are available. They will clean your room and refresh toilettes each day, but only a shampoo/body wash is provided so you may want to bring conditioner if your hair needs it. We heard absolutely no noise except when we were in the hallways, in the room we couldn’t hear any other rooms or the street below. There is an embassy and UN type office right across the street with police at all times so you don’t have to worry about feeling safe at night, but the area in general is also nice. I would stay here again-it’s a bit of a walk to some spots so depending on where you’re going for the day just plan ahead-when I booked this I was looking at the Metro’s nearby, but didn’t think to look at the Metro schedules and realized that the closest metro wasn’t on the same line of the attractions or ways we were going, so the metro we used was .75 miles away or so. Overall it was lovely and the staff were all so friendly and helpful!
Good location near Termini (about a 20 min walk) and across from the U.S. Embassy. It is on the 5th floor with a tiny elevator typical for Europe. Clean, decently sized rooms and the shower had great water pressure. Big downside for me was the strong smell of smoke in what’s supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. I always opt to have my caffè at a local pasticceria/caffe so I can’t comment on the hotel breakfast.
