Stayed 4 nights in a 8 bed mixed dorm in the 2nd building. With the 2nd building, you enter through the lobby, through the courtyard and to the left before the restaurant area. It is a bit more inconvenient because the elevator doesn't work and thus requires several flights of stairs. The door to my room was super tight, felt like it would not open at times. The room itself is spacious and looks newly renovated, nicely decorated. The bed frames are made of plywood, which look nice but do creak quite a bit when you are in bed. The mattresses are covered in a plastic and also make noise. But I do understand this decision, safety regarding bugs and hygiene. The dorms felt clean and the beds felt clean. That has to be top priority in a hostel. The dorms have AC, thankfully! They also have one toilet&shower combo and one solo shower. The front desk was always helpful, even when I had a stupid question. There is also a security guard at night, which does add another element of safety. The courtyard is nice to sit at but to be honest, in the heat, I preferred just going to the room for AC and unfortunately, the courtyard was often used by smokers. One thing I did not like was that you must pay 6euro for a locker PRIOR to check-in for your luggage. Every hostel I've stayed in has allowed this for free. I can understand charging AFTER checkout, but I don't understand this part. It does add to the feeling of being nickel & dimed, when towel rentals are also a cost. That said, it was a good location that felt safe as a solo traveller. Dorms were spacious, clean and cool from the insane heat. I would stay again.

Had the best stay at Jo&Joe Roma! One of the cleanest hostels I’ve stayed in, and everyone was so lovely and kind and caring. Special shoutout to Marco and Adriano. I really appreciated the extra lengths Marco went to, to ensure that I was safe and well during my stay (especially as a solo traveller). And it was always nice to see a familiar face at the start and the end of the day! Hostel location was very convenient and the nearest metro was about 7 minutes away, with bus stops located conveniently right outside the hotel. I would definitely stay here again when I return to Rome!

Very good hostel! The staff was wonderful, the rooms were large and quite private even for a hostel environment. I did not explore the shared spaces or restaurant though. I liked that you could rent a hairdryer, as other hostels I stayed at did not have that as an option. The location was about a 10 minute walk to termini, and about a 5 minute walk to the metro station. My one recommendation I would make to the hostel is somehow install curtains on the top bunks, as the bottom bunks were fully enclosed. Next time I would request a bottom bunk for that reason.

Overall, it was a very good experience. The staff were consistently friendly, approachable, and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. The room was as clean as you can reasonably expect in a shared dorm. The only downside was that there was just one toilet in the room, so in the mornings you sometimes had to wait quite a while if someone was taking their time getting ready. There were, however, two showers, which helped. The mattress was a bit on the firm side, but that’s to be expected in a hostel setting, so nothing to complain about. In terms of noise, it was surprisingly well managed. There was music playing in the courtyard, but inside the rooms everyone was respectful and it stayed quiet at night. It was a great first hostel experience, and I would definitely recommend staying here.

My 8-year-old daughter and I had a nice stay. The staff made our stay special; they were all lovely and accommodating. Our room was pleasant, and the communal areas, including the bar, were really nice too. The only thing for us as a family was that the music in the courtyard was really loud and didn't turn off until very late, and the drain in the shower was smelly. Overall, we loved our stay and were happy that it worked for my daughter too.
