Description

Start your experience with a multimedia video which shows the past and the present of the most important monuments in Rome, including the Colosseum, Roman Forum, St. Peter's Basilica, Castel St. Angel, Circus Maxiums and Ara Pacis. The video is shown inside the Touristation Office before you begin exploring the Domus. The visit at the Domus will start one hour later. Then, using a headset, admire the virtual reconstruction of rooms, walls, mosaics, peristyles, kitchens, baths, furnishings and decorations. Everything will come back to life during this virtual tour of the great Domus of Ancient Rome. The experience reveals an area that was of great importance in Roman times and helps piece together the ancient, medieval and modern parts of Rome. You will also have the opportunity to observe how the area of Trajan's Column looked in olden times. A virtual reconstruction of the column gives you a close-up look at the bas-reliefs and the story they tell of the Trajan’s military campaign; the conquest of Dacia in present day Romania. It is located in the heart of Rome, at Palazzo Roccagiovine, opposite the Trajan’s column at the Imperial Fora, and preserves in the hypogeum environments, in agreement with the Archaeological Superintendence of Rome, the colored marble of the pavement of the Basilica Ulpia and the remains of the eastern apse (2nd Century A.C.).
