Description

Step into a real Roman kitchen and prepare traditional Italian dishes with Ilaria’s guidance in a warm, welcoming home. Learn family secrets behind recipes—gestures, timings, and instincts that rarely appear in cookbooks—then enjoy the meal you created in a relaxed, convivial setting.

This is not a traditional cooking class. It takes place in a real Roman home in Trastevere, where you cook together, share stories, drink wine, and dine like locals. There is no professional kitchen—just genuine food and connection.

Ilaria and her family welcome guests as friends: with a smile, a glass of wine, and a table ready for kneading dough and sharing stories. Born and raised in Rome, Ilaria comes from three generations of chefs. She began cooking in her family’s restaurant early and later trained at the Italian Chef Academy. She shares recipes alongside memories, traditions, and cooking rituals.

The experience suits everyone: beginners, home cooks, couples, solo travelers, and families with children. Groups are small, with no more than 6–8 guests, allowing plenty of time to cook, chat, and enjoy the experience at an unhurried pace.

You will make fresh pasta from scratch, shaping fettuccine, ravioli, and orecchiette. Prepare three traditional sauces—cacio e pepe, fresh tomato with basil, and Norma sauce—using seasonal ingredients and classic techniques. Finish with tiramisu made from Ilaria’s family recipe. Along the way, enjoy appetizers, wine, and conversation. Once cooking is complete, share the meal together, often the most memorable part when cooking turns into connection.

Sample Menu

  • Aperitivo: Small bites such as bruschetta with fresh tomatoes, basil, and burrata
  • Pasta Dishes:

    • Ravioli filled with ricotta and spinach, served with fresh tomato sauce
    • Orecchiette with Norma sauce
    • All three pasta dishes prepared during the experience will be shared and enjoyed together
  • Dessert: Tiramisu prepared following Ilaria’s family recipe
  • Drinks Included: Wine, water, and soft drinks
