Choose Your Independent Experience
Vatican Museums Assisted Entry
Skip the long ticket office lines and proceed directly to the galleries. An Entry Assistant will meet you at our central check-in point to facilitate a smooth transition into the museums. Once you pass through security, you are entirely on your own to explore the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel at your own pace.
Vatican Museums + St. Peter’s Basilica Access
Combine your self-guided museum visit with entry to the world’s most iconic basilica for a comprehensive experience. Your ticket for St. Peter’s Basilica is provided during your initial check-in, allowing you the independence to explore at your own pace.
Please be advised that the final entry for the Basilica is typically at 6:00 PM. Access is subject to the Vatican’s official liturgical schedule and may be restricted due to extraordinary religious services. On dates where the Basilica is closed or restricted, we may adjust your itinerary to visit the Basilica first or provide suitable alternative arrangements to ensure your experience remains seamless.
Vatican Museums + Panoramic Bus Tour
Discover Rome from a unique vantage point. Receive your physical Hop-on Hop-off bus tickets directly from your Entry Assistant at the meeting point. This pass allows you to capture the city’s architectural beauty with the flexibility to board and disembark at any stop across major city landmarks.
How the Experience Works
Convenient Check-In
Your journey begins at Via Vittore Pisani 6/8 at the open square. Our check-in staff are positioned at the bottom of the steps, a brief five-minute walk from the museum entrance. Please arrive fifteen minutes before your scheduled time for a prompt departure.
Assisted Museum Entry
Your Entry Assistant will meet you at the square to distribute any additional tickets (Bus or Basilica) included in your selected option. They will then lead your group to the Vatican Museums entrance to assist with the security and entry procedures.
Independent Exploration
Immediately after entering the museum, the assistance concludes. You are the master of your own itinerary and will not be accompanied by a guide. Wander through the Gallery of Maps and stand beneath Michelangelo’s legendary frescoes in the Sistine Chapel at your own speed.
Please be aware that the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica are distinct sites with separate entrances and security checkpoints. There is no direct internal passage between the two for independent ticket holders. To move between the museums and the Basilica, you must exit one complex and walk to the entrance of the other.
