Description
Meet your guide near the Tiber River and explore Trastevere’s medieval streets. Visit the Basilica of Saint Crisogono and admire its impressive interior.
Descend underground to the 4th-century basilica, featuring ancient frescoes and crypts. Then visit the Church of Santa Cecilia to see its 3rd-century mosaic flooring and learn about Santa Cecilia’s story.
The morning tour includes a visit to the Cavallini Room to view the Last Judgement fresco. The tour concludes near the golden mosaics of Santa Maria, one of Rome’s oldest churches.
Note: The underground area of San Crisogono is open Monday to Friday only from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and all day on weekends, so underground visits are unavailable on weekday morning tours. During these times, the guide will highlight other monuments instead. Tour duration remains the same.

- Underground access at San Crisogono is limited Monday to Friday 4:00 PM–7:00 PM and all day on weekends; unavailable on weekday mornings.
- Claustrophobic visitors may find underground sections uncomfortable.
- The Cavallini Room is only accessible during morning tours; afternoon tours do not include this site.
- Modest clothing is required to enter churches: knees and shoulders must be covered.
- Small group tours have a maximum of 10 participants.
- The tour may be affected by the liturgical calendar; cancellations offer alternative dates or full refunds.
- The tour runs rain or shine, provided underground areas are accessible.
