Meet your guide near the Colosseum for a short introduction to the amphitheater’s history and the spectacles that once filled its tiers. After a required security check, enter with your group and begin your exploration into the ruthless side of ancient Rome.
Once inside, visit the first and second tiers, where travertine limestone seating, vaulted corridors, and sweeping arena views help you picture the games. Look down into the underground area from above, and listen as your guide explains how trap doors and animals were once used during the gladiator fights. On the full tour option, continue with your guide to Palatine Hill, the legendary birthplace of Rome, and walk among the ruins of imperial palaces. Then, walk into the Roman Forum, the center of ancient political and social life. - This tour is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers. A soft baby carrier is recommended. If you need elevator access, please let us know in advance.
A valid government-issued ID is required to enter the Colosseum. The name on your ticket must match your ID or entry may be denied.
Please keep your day flexible in case of a change in tour time due to ticketing.
Your tour may run in reverse and start at the Roman Forum.
All visitors, regardless of age, need a ticket for the Colosseum. Each child’s ticket must match their government-issued ID.
Visitors with valid disability certification as well as one companion are eligible for a reduced €2 Colosseum entry ticket. Contact us after booking to arrange this. This applies to the ticket cost only, not the tour price.
