Description

Over 500 years ago, Leonardo da Vinci designed flying machines, robots, submarines, underwater breathing equipment, an unsupported suspension bridge, and solar-powered machines. The Leonardo da Vinci Experience allows you to see 50 reconstructed inventions based on his original designs.

Test some of Da Vinci's machines and understand how his concepts influenced modern technology such as digging and lifting equipment, the sewing machine, the bicycle, water skis, and the machine gun.

Visit Leonardo’s Room of Mirrors to learn how his study of light contributed to the development of photography and projection. You can also take photos next to replicas of his helicopter and armored tank.

Besides his inventions, Leonardo da Vinci was a master artist. The exhibition features 20 certified reproductions of his artworks, created by Vatican Museum restoration experts. Admire two versions of the Virgin of the Rocks (originals in the Louvre and London’s National Gallery) and the Lady with an Ermine, a painting that transformed classical portraiture.
