The service here was impeccable. They were so busy that there was a queue to get into the restaurant, and they still had us seated within 10 minutes. They even brought complementary prosecco to us while we waited in the queue. My gnocchi was delicious but my girlfriend didn't quite finish her veal escalope. The food came out very quickly and I appreciated the clear allergen labels on the menu.
We went to La Canonica in mid-July of this year. The heat was stifling that day, so we were grateful for the misting fans on the terrace. The pasta and drinks were wonderful and the ambiance on the terrace was relaxing even with an endless stream of people walking by. But what made this meal truly great was the fantastic service of our waiter, Mimmo. He was gracious, helpful, attentive and we especially enjoyed his sense of humor. 🙂 As I told him when we were leaving, his was the best service we received during our whole stay in Rome. We understand having to work with so many tourists in the heat of July must get old real fast, so Mimmo’s humor and genuine kindness is really outstanding. Thank you Mimmo and La Canonical for a really wonderful time!
Wonderful experience - our server Semi, was a delight! Once we sat down, he made sure the table was fully under the umbrella to shield us from the sun! Good food, great music, reasonable prices, the fans + water misters made a +37 day much more manageable! The artichoke, mushroom, prosciutto pizza was one of the best we have had in Rome so far! Thank you again Semi! ☺️
The pizza was absolutely incredible! 🍕🇮🇹 A special thank you to Carlo, who welcomed us from the moment we arrived and made sure throughout our visit that everything was perfect. He constantly checked on us, made us feel comfortable, and treated us with genuine kindness. Thanks to him, we felt truly welcomed and had a fantastic experience. The best way to start off this review is by making absurdly clear there are NO WORDS that can begin to explain the amazing experience YOU WILL have! Rasel is the epitome of a detailed, elegant, professional, and above and beyond server. He optimizes what you would envision as the experience that makes you feel like royalty. The appetizers were so light yet flavorful. I had the steak which parallels the best Texas steak. My wife had a seafood combo dish that served all facets of our ocean with exquisite taste. Even the garlic bread was melt in your mouth. We intentionally tried 3 desserts. All made me feel like a child with each taste. You MUST make your way here. There is a reason this place has over 24k reviews at 4.5 minimum. Thank me later!
