Nice clean room. Desk staff very professional. Breakfast was good with a lot of variety. Within walking distance to many restaurants. Best of all, RIGHT on the bus line for buses 63 / 83, so a really easy commute to and from many tourist spots in the city. Enjoyed our stay, would stay again. When it was time to leave and hit the train station- 5 minute walk to a bus stop with a direct bus to the station.
This hotel is located in a nice, quiet area as it is a bit further out from the centre. There a several good dining options close by. Rooms are a reasonable size, clean and made up daily. A small bar fridge and tea/coffee making facilities would have been a welcome addition though. Buffet breakfast was good with plenty of options. Roof top terrace/bar was a lovely space, with great views but €18 cocktails were a bit steep for us. Staff were always friendly and welcoming.
Nice experience at this hotel. They assisted me in making arrangements from our cruise ship to the hotel. They allowed us to check in early for a small fee because a room was available. The check in process was unremarkable. The rooms was spacious and clean- with a very good air conditioner, which was needed. The service was excellent. Room service was perfect. The roof top bar was pleasant and we were able to see fireworks to honor a city wide celebration. The restaurant recommendations were right on. Overall, a great hotel within walking distance of a number of attractions we wanted to visit.
Hotel Romanico Palace where history continues to evolve. As a travel professional, I have a handful of hotels I return to time after time. My personal requirements are: amazing and safe location, great neighborhood vibe with close by restaurants, bars and shops, a comfortable/ well appointed room and most importantly, I want to feel like I am in whatever city or country I am visiting. With no disrespect to the large hotel chains, when I am in Mexico or London, I want my surroundings to feel I am in Mexico or London...and when I am in Roma, that place will always be Hotel Romanico Palace. But, a hotel's brick and mortar is only half (or oftentimes less than half) of the experience. The second half, the most important half in my opinion, is the service. Service is where Hotel Romanico Palace really shines. When you have a local, involved owner who truly loves their hotel and their staff it makes for the most incredible guest experience. Every piece of decor in the hotel was hand chosen by the owner or locally made by custom artisans. The hotel staff from the top management to the employees who daily interact with guests are all clearly delighted in their work and have a pride of place at HRP. From check in to check out myself and my family were treated like friends. A quick hello often stretching a lovely conversation asking about our day. Delicious food and drink served with aplomb. And the hotel's most secret weapon, their concierge, Janina. She is the beating heart of the property. Need dining reservations, "what do you like I have multiple suggestions". Interested in the hotel history, "let me tell you about a once noble Palace turned luxury hotel". And most gratefully for the colleague traveking with us, "You have lost your phone in the cab and don't know the cab company? Let me call EVERY cab company in Roma. Unsure of where you were picked up? Let me see some pix you took, perfect! I know exactly where that is." Luckily for us, a few calls in, the cab driver found the phone and returned it to most happy and fearfully grateful colleague. I have no doubt Janina would have gone through the entire list of cab companies...that is the sort of service you can expect from this beautiful and magical place. Cannot wait to return to my Casa di Roma, (Roman home, Hotel Romanico Palace).
