The rooms were okay/good: nice air conditioning, clean but the shower door was super small so water got everywhere anytime we used the shower. However, we were almost charged 160 euros more than what they were supposed to charge us because they thought we used their gym. I would definitely say that’s not a small mistake but we caught it in time. The hotel treated it like it was a mistake that happened often so I would make sure to check that you’re being charged correctly for what you did.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Hive Hotel during our trip to Rome. The location is incredibly strategic; it’s very close to Termini Station, making transportation seamless, yet it is located on a very safe, clean, and quiet street surrounded by government ministries. We were able to walk to almost all the major tourist attractions very easily. The absolute highlight of this hotel, however, is the professional and welcoming reception staff. From the moment we checked in until our departure, they were incredibly helpful, polite, and solution-oriented. After a long journey and tiring border control procedures, the warm and professional welcome from the front desk team was exactly what we needed. The rooms were spacious, clean, and highly comfortable. If we visit Rome again, this will definitely be our only choice. A huge thank you to the entire reception team for making us feel so safe and at home!
Short summary: An ok hotel in a convenient location, but more suited to business travellers and conferences than tourists. Make sure you don't get a room downstairs. Longer version: We stayed here for 4 nights and tried our hardest to love it but it fell short at every turn. Our room was large and generally very clean with the exception of some mould in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the room had plenty of storage. The bathroom was also large but the shower was weak and often had little hot water. Breakfast is served on the top floor daily and has a good range, though very limited for gluten free, despite emailing in advance and being told this was fine. The big issue however was the location of our room - we were in a downstairs room between a conference suite and staff area. The result was that we were woken up at all hours with power tools, furniture being moved around, and staff coming and going slamming doors. I can accept some noise in the morning when we're having a lie in, but 2am and 6am is not acceptable. The hotel seemed to have plenty of rooms, and none of the conference guests were on our floor, so I cannot understand why we were put down there when paying almost 250 euros per night! We raised this with reception after our second night and was told it would be sorted, but no offer to change rooms was made. It didn't improve and so I raised it again at checkout. The receptionist apologised and said we should have been moved, and they would tell the team, but no compensation or further resolution was offered. Overall a disappointing stay considering the not insignificant cost.
Our stay at The Hive Hotel was absolutely exceptional from beginning to end. This hotel truly deserves every bit of a five-star rating. The entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. From the friendly and professional front desk team to the incredibly helpful bellhops and hospitality staff, everyone treated us with warmth, kindness, and genuine care throughout our visit. The hotel itself is beautiful, modern, spotless, and perfectly located. Being within walking distance to so many of Rome’s major attractions made exploring the city effortless and enjoyable. We were able to experience so much without constantly relying on transportation, which made the trip even better. The restaurant at the hotel was absolutely incredible. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, with outstanding service to match. One of the highlights of our stay was the breathtaking rooftop view. Sitting above the city, enjoying the atmosphere and scenery, was truly unforgettable and one of our favorite experiences in Rome. Everything about The Hive Hotel exceeded expectations — the accommodations, the service, the food, and the location. We cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel and its amazing staff. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rome.
We have a great experience staying here for 5 nights. Location was great. Room was a nice size and very clean. Bed was very comfy. Staff were great. Rooftop bar for breakfast and drinks was lovely addition. The spa facilities were very nice and although we didn't use it they have a decent gym.
