Our stay was wonderful. The staff are so kind, caring and helpful and make everyone feel so welcome. They provided good gluten free options for our daughter at breakfast and even during their guest Appertivo hour. She is celiac and this was so appreciated. Special callout to Kevin in the bar! We look forward to staying with you the next time we are in Roma!
We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Santa Maria in Trastevere and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Our room was spotless, and the daily housekeeping team did an incredible job keeping everything clean and comfortable throughout our visit. The front desk staff were consistently attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Trastevere, yet the hotel's beautiful courtyard provides a peaceful retreat from the city's energy. The breakfasts were excellent, and we also enjoyed the drinks at the hotel. Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. Hotel Santa Maria will be our first choice every time we visit Rome. Highly recommended!
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Santa Maria in Rome. The property itself is very pretty and has a charming, peaceful feel, which was such a nice contrast to the busier parts of the city. The location was excellent — very walkable and easy to explore from, but also just a short walk to a taxi stand when we needed one. The staff was amazing throughout our stay: friendly, helpful, and welcoming. My daughter especially loved the happy hour, which was such a fun touch and made the hotel feel even more special. Breakfast was fine and convenient before heading out for the day. The only downsides were the hairdryer and the shower temperature. The hairdryer was basically useless and not powerful at all. Also, the shower could turn cold if other people were showering at the same time. The staff explained that both issues were related to the age of the building and the area, which was understandable, but still worth noting. Overall, this is a lovely hotel with a great location, beautiful atmosphere, and wonderful staff. We would definitely recommend it, especially for anyone looking for a charming and walkable place to stay in Rome.
Holy Moly! This hotel has ruined any other hotel for me. What an amazing stay! We were a family of 4, so we had a 2 bedroom unit and it was very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast and capuccinos under the orange trees was everything! However, what makes this hotel stand out is the service! Adriano is a rockstar! Honestly, all of the staff strive to make your stay as perfect as possible. They aim to please! They helped us book drivers and went above and beyond with anything we needed. The location could not be better. It is walking distance to all the trastevere restaurants but tucked away so you don't hear any noise at night. If I ever return to Rome, I would only want to stay here!!! It is definitely a 5 star hotel for me! Oh and the AC....very cold for the hot summer nights. It was simply perfect in every way for our family! ❤️💚🤍
Ten years ago we had an outstanding stay while in Rome at Santa Maria Hotel. So this year when we decided to revisit Rome, naturally we booked five nights at the same hotel ….. and we were not disappointed. Several of the key staff were still there and all the staff were always happy to help us in any way they could, especially Kevin and Norman. But, the pièce de résistance is the hotel’s beautiful outdoor courtyards where you can sit in the shade of the orange trees and enjoy your breakfast or a glass of wine. It is a quiet oasis to return to and relax when returning from the noise and crowds of Rome.
