I loved this Boutique hotel and its location! It is walking distance to Piazza Navona, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Spanish steps, the Colosseum and the Vatican. We did not get a room inside the hotel building itself but an apartment nearby to accommodate our family of 4. The apartment was clean and spacious with a small kitchen we didn't really use but having a fridge and a kitchen sink was nice. Neighborhood felt really safe. The stairs going up our apartment were no joke mostly because we had one big heavy luggage on top of our individual carry-on and our apartment was the top one. The elevator was small (we are in Europe) and it did not go all the way up (it's an old building). But when I visit a foreign country I don't expect things to be like in the US. I don't book with Hilton, Marriot or anything similar. I like things to be different. I don't complain for stairs, or small elevators. I embrace the change and enjoy experiencing the authenticity of how other places function. AC was working very well and kept apartment cool. The service provided was excellent. They helped us all the way up with our luggage. They assisted with everything we asked for: dinner reservation, iron board, taxi.... Although our room was not inside the hotel building we had full access to their roof terrace and cleaning services. We went up to watch the sunset while having "il aperitivo". The neighborhood feels really Italian with a full street market during the day and restaurants by the piazza in the evening. To avoid restaurants heavily catered to tourists, we walked few minutes away in the small streets nearby to eat at other restaurants (family own type authentic Italian restaurants). We stayed up until 2:30 AM to watch a world cup game on the piazza. It was truly an amazing experience. I would definitely recommend it (depending on what you're looking for). As for me, I would definitely go back if I'm ever in Rome again.
What gem this salon is! It's right in the heart of the pearl district but also tucked away up in a gorgeous old top-floor Brooklyn-style loft, with original woodwork, hight windows, a skylight, and a lovely cafe on street level. The salon space has a great vibe, both laidback and relaxing and yet elegant and inspiring. Janelle is the best hairstylist I have ever met. She always does a fantastic job--she listens carefully and she gives me an effortlessly perfect cut every time. She clearly loves what she does and is incredibly skilled at her craft. She is also such a warm and wonderful person and such a pleasure to chat with that getting my haircut is always the highlight of my week. I've been to several salons around Portland (and in the pearl) and I can say that you won't find anything like Coda, it's so unique --it's like your own little zen space for a slice of your day (I love the little touches like the tree hanging over you when you get your shampoo by the skylight window). And if you're looking for your best haircut ever, just book with Janelle and you can't go wrong.
This is the perfect little hotel to stay in while in Roma. it’s centralized to where you can visit just about Villa walking. there are several shops and restaurants nearby, which is very convenient as well as the market that is full of vendors of all kinds. we took a golf cart tour as a suggestion from the hotel, which is the only way to see important sites in Rome in such a short time. the hotel room rooms have just about everything you need and if it doesn’t just ask the front desk . Valentina at the front desk, is professional and extremely nice very helpful. She is the one that provided maps as well as scheduled our Golf tour our shuttle to the airport. We didn’t have to lift a finger thank you Valentina!!!!!
Ok, these people are great! We spent 8 nights in Rome. I think we saw everything we wanted to see - Colosseum, Vatican, Borghese, all 4 Papal Basilicas and 5 other cathedrals, the Pantheon, etc. - and frankly, I’m not sure we will make it back. IF we DID come back to Rome, it would likely be to see the lovely Valentina and her staff at the Hotel Campo Di Fiori! We were treated SO well. We loved Andrea (JUNY!!! Short for Junior) and his colleagues. The location was the best for first time visitors. Almost all the major sites were within walking distance - we were about half way between the Colosseum and Vatican (we could see St Peter’s from our front balcony). We did take a lot of cabs because it was just so convenient. The restaurants in Campo di Fiori were great for the most part. There is a coffee shop right outside the hotel door (Al Biscione Cafe) which is perfect for a “caffe” and breakfast Italian style (pastries mainly) or American (the omelette which was really more of a frittata was tasty) - both were excellent. We loved Vero Sera, a restaurant right outside the hotel - the ragu was outstanding. The Ruggeri deli was just great - ask for Luca. Basically, I’ll remember this Hotel (and Valentina!!) for the rest of my life. 10 out of 10 - would try again! Darren and Angela.
