Cute, characterful little hotel in a great Trastevere location. Breakfast was good. A couple of things let it down though: staff weren't very clear on what our package actually included, the "rooftop restaurant" is really just the top floor, and there's not much within walking distance for dinner. There's also a rubbish collection point right outside that isn't the nicest to walk past. Sweet hotel, just a few kinks to iron out.
The Loly Is a quaint hotel tucked away and Trastevere. The beds were comfortable, not too hard not too soft. The air conditioning was great considering we were there in a heat wave. Our biggest concern was that there was literally no cellphone reception and the WiFi ONLY worked when the TV was on. Each room has a specific code linked to their TV. If one of us could not sleep or stayed up late or got up early and wanted to use our phone , it really bother the other to have the TV on to do so.
While they will tell you they are a luxury hotel, we didn’t find it to be so. The WiFi connections are limited to 2 devices per room and only work when the TV is on. I have never experienced that in any hotel and certainly not a luxury hotel. The room was very large and the bed was nice. One day we left a tip for housekeeping and returned to our room before it was cleaned and the tip was gone. When we told the man at the front desk he didn’t seem to care and never followed up with us about it. That situation made me uncomfortable. They offer a free coffee or cappuccino as a welcome. How about a cocktail? The breakfast was ok. Bacon not done and eggs were watery. It’s a great location which is why we chose it but we wouldn't go back here again.
Very nice hotel with very friendly staff. Not as luxurious as I was expecting but very nice nonetheless. The restaurant food was nice and keenly priced if you're too tired to eat out. Situated at the bottom end of Trastevere but a 30 min walk to most sights. Roof bar not open due to the time of year which was a shame.
The hotel was nice but not more than that. Not all of the staff were all that friendly. They made a mistake with a taxi that should be picking us up at the airport but no apologies that we waited a long time for nothing. We booked a Valentine’s dinner at the hotel’s restaurant but that was a big deception. Live music too loud, portions of food too big. Too bright light so no romantic vibes and the waitress did not know what to do. Red wine in the same glass used for the welcome drink. No knives for every new course.. It did not match the price we had to pay for it. The floor in the room was not cleaned every day. And many other small things. It was more like fawlty towers! Still we had a great time and some of the people working there were kind
