Important Information

  • 1. Limited Access – Advance Booking Required The Via Triumphalis Necropolis is part of the ancient Roman burial grounds beneath Vatican City. Access is highly restricted and only possible through pre-booked guided tours. Tickets often sell out weeks in advance, so early booking is essential. 2. Not the Same as the Scavi Tour This tour explores the Via Triumphalis section of the necropolis, not the more limited Scavi Tour (which leads directly to St. Peter’s tomb). While both involve ancient burial sites, they are different areas with distinct archaeological features. 3 Strict Entry Requirements Passport or ID may be required for security checks. Late arrivals cannot be admitted, as entry is time-specific and escorted. Children under 12 may not be permitted, depending on the tour provider’s rules.
