The Orchestra I Virtuosi dell’opera di Roma, formed by professors of the most prestigious Italian conservatories, specializes in performing the entire opera repertoire, especially from the Italian lyrical tradition. During the season the ensemble introduces “La Traviata”, the most famous opera by Giuseppe Verdi in three acts with a libretto by Francesco Maria Piave, in a complete version with costumes and scenes. The opera, set in Paris in the mid-1800s, tells of the impossible love between Violetta, a well-known courtesan, and Alfredo, a young good-looking nobleman. Since its beginning, their story is destined to end in tragedy.
