From there, you can expect a queue of about 10 minutes. With your ID in hand, you will be able to enter and visit the Basilica on your own. The distance is approximately 1 km and takes about 20 minutes to walk. The tour ends in St. Peter's square, where you will admire Bernini's colonnade and the stunning façade of the basilica. At last you will be able to go to the nearest taxi station or subway for transportation back to your hotel.
