Description

Discover some of the wonders of Ancient Rome outside the bustling city center on a golf cart tour. Visit notable historic sites along the Appian Way, with stops at the viewpoint of the Circus Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, and the eerie Roman Catacombs. Meet your guide in the heart of the city and hop aboard an eco-friendly electric-powered golf cart. Marvel at the impressive sites and landmarks of Ancient Rome as you ride out of the city center along the historic Appian Way, one of the most important thoroughfares in the Roman Empire. Enjoy the scenic drive as your guide explains more about the road's rich history. Stop by a grand ancient Roman tomb, and walk along the very same stones that the ancient Romans traversed for centuries. Admire what remains of the Baths of Caracalla, and the foundations of the Circus Maximus. Visit the Roman Catacombs on a pre-reserved 30-minute guided walking tour that takes you into the depths of the underground labyrinth. This portion of the tour will be led by an official Catacombs resident guide, where you’ll learn about the fascinating history of these ancient Christian burial sites. On the return journey, drive along the incredibly well-preserved Aurelian Walls, the ancient Roman fortifications that once protected the city from invaders. Finally, be dropped off back at the tour meeting point, in central Rome (by the Pantheon). Please note that there are 7 seats per vehicle and tours are run with up to a maximum of 2 vehicles and 14 participants. Vehicles will travel together (like connected train carriages) on tour and guests all listen to the same tour guide through the use of earpieces. In some occasions guests who book together may be asked to separate between the two vehicles.

• The Catacombs tour requires walking on uneven ground & climbing down & up steep stairs. The temperature inside the Catacombs is around 16°C / 61°F with high humidity, so please dress accordingly. This is a small group tour of 14 or less. Does not include hotel pick-up. This tour includes entrance only to the Roman Catacombs for a 35 minute guided tour (walking) underground. This tour starts and ends at our office by the Pantheon. The tour information will be given in English. Child Ages: Unfortunately, due to safety regulations, we are unable to accept infants under 2 years of age. Children from 2 to 12 years old are welcome. Please note that there are 7 seats per vehicle and tours are run with up to a maximum of 2 vehicles and 14 participants.
