When we arrived the room was 80° and AC could not cool it off all night. Tried to call the front desk with the phone but it didn't work. Eventually the staff tried to do something to improve the AC but nothing improved the temperature. Next day we had only minor improvement when they "fixed" it but when we left the room to go explore the AC was turned off for us to return to a hot room again. The room was very disappointing for a " family suite". Bathroom was very small with very little room to stand. The bathroom was moldy and in disrepair. Coffee maker was slimy from water sitting in it and not being cleaned for weeks. The lobby did not have air conditioning in the common area. Rooftop was a restaurant that is accessible to anyone so there is no point in staying at the hotel to have access to it. In the evening when it's busy it was booked for private events and unavailable to the hotel guests. There's no space for guests to hang out outside the room and enjoy the amenities without paying for restaurant service. The prices at the restaurant are about double what you would expect at any other restaurants in Rome. The view from the rooftop is great but you would do better to stay at a decent hotel elsewhere and come check out the view at the rooftop restaurant.
The location is excellent, especially for anyone visiting the Vatican. The hotel is very close to St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museums, with plenty of restaurants nearby. It is also within walking distance of many other popular tourist attractions. The hotel staff, particularly the Reception Team, were extremely polite and always willing to help with any questions or issues. The breakfast service team and housekeeping staff were equally friendly and professional. One of the highlights of the hotel is the breakfast restaurant, which offers beautiful views of St. Peter's Basilica. The rooftop bar is another great feature, providing a relaxing atmosphere and excellent opportunities to take stunning photos. Overall, the hotel offers very good value for money compared to other accommodation options in the area. I would happily recommend it to anyone planning a visit to Rome and the Vatican.
The Atlante was a lovely hotel and staff were very courteous and accommodating. The hotel is a perfect location for visiting Vatican City. If you have a lot of luggage/large luggage, be mindful that the elevator is small and the hallways are narrow. We travel lightly with carry-on luggage, so this was not an issue for our family. We were given a suite - one bedroom with a queen and one bedroom with two twins with a shared bathroom. It was a very nice and comfortable set up. The suite was very clean and well appointed. We would definitely stay here again. Oh! The rooftop bar and restaurant have fantastic views of St. Peter’s basilica. Highly recommend going there at the end of the day for an aperitif whilst taking in the view.
The hotel has an excellent location, but it feels more like a crowded apartment-style hotel. The rooms are packed into a maze-like layout, and the carpeted hallways make it difficult to roll suitcases through — especially since we were given the very last room at the end of the corridor. The room itself was extremely small, though manageable, and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, and quite surprisingly, when I went to take a shower there was simply no hot water. That is honestly the one basic thing you expect from a hotel — a normal shower. When I called the front desk, I was told that they had probably run out of hot water and that I needed to wait. That is pretty crazy and completely unacceptable for a hotel experience. For a hotel that proudly presents itself as a 4-star property and charges around €300 per night for the most basic room, I was genuinely shocked. As for the famous rooftop, the view itself is undeniably impressive. However, it was clear that it also serves many non-hotel guests, so there was barely any place to sit for hotel guests. That was disappointing and not something I had expected. On the positive side, the breakfast was very good — varied and tasty. The front desk staff also helped us store our luggage after checkout and arranged a paid transfer to the airport with the hotel driver. Overall, we survived to tell the tale, but I would not recommend staying there.
Just finished my second stay at Atlante Star, was greeted by the same friendly and welcoming staff. First stay was in August for a week for work and returned this week for leisure to show my mom around Rome. I love a comfortable bed and great water pressure not always the case even in the best of European hotels. This hotel is so clean with renovated bathrooms, beautiful marble stairs and floors. The best rooftop with a view of the Vatican and their aperitif time has real appetizer menu not just things to pick at. Breakfast is good and also has a magnificent view, my mom was in heaven and also wants to return again. Location is prime. Thank you for another lovely stay!! And take care of your beautiful staff they are all excellent from front desk, restaurant, to housekeeping!
